I know a few people that have used Proactive with awesome results. Problem is - it is expensive but the up side - it is well worth it!
September 16th, 2009 at 8:04 pm
drink lots of water…it flushes everything out. I swab my face with rubbing alcohol every night. I know it’s horrible, but it works.
September 17th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
proactiv is excellent, but kind of pricy. go see a dermatologist, dont buy any of that over the counter supermarket crap. youre wasting your money.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
yeah it was the same for me … then .. i just start thinkin of how much money i was using up just to buy facial crap.. so i brought deodorent soap.. it cleans out the pores extremly well. ( its basically normal soap ) .. well after u use that in the shower or whatever.. get some cocoa butter and put that on your face.. ( thatll get rid of scars ( over time )) .. remeber KEEP YOUR HANDS OOOOFF your face

see what your doctor can recommend. If you’ve tried all the OTC remedies, they may be able to prescribe something stronger.
September 25th, 2009 at 1:08 am
avoid thing that may irritate your chin like phones, or your pillows
September 25th, 2009 at 9:05 am
Seriously - wipe urine on your face. Do a quick google on it & youll see.
Also, pee is free.

Try Benzoyl Peroxide products, they come in many brands and in creams and gels, cleaning pads, and even soaps. The clean the poors and keep the skin dry to prevent pimples, zits, blackheads. They’ve been working for me, hope they help you. This products range from 4 to 10 dollars.

Hun, maybe you should consider going to the dermatologist. If Proactive didn’t work then you have a problem that maybe internal like a hormonal imbalance. In my opinion Proactive is the best over the counter acne med but if you have severe acne that doesn’t respond then you need a prescription antibacterial med or whatever a dermatologist may recommend. And it sounds like you have sensitive skin so your best bet is the skin doc.

I have terribly oily skin. I started using olay daily facials clarity foaming cleanser. It has a small amount of salicylic acid in the formula which deep cleanses the skin. My skin is much clearer.
I do not think there is a way to shut off the oil pump some of us women have which makes our skin greasy. I always try to think of it in terms of with all that lubrication, i will look younger.
You just have to wash your face several times a day to keep up with it.

I use Neutragena(sp) Oil Free Acne Wash. It totally works. You use it twice a day and takes care of pimples and smooths skin, and just so u know that comes from me, not Neutragena. I have tried Clean and Clear and Clearasil, but neither work. You can buy Neutragena Oil Free Acne Wash in your local Walgreens or CVS or Osco, whatever. And it is like 5 dollars and worth it! It come in a foam or scrub and works! good luck!

I agree with Josh G. The over the counter stuff work to an extent. They’re merely topical treatments. The best way to solve acne is a combination of topical and internal treatment. Drinking a lot of water always helps. Trust me, this is coming from someone who’s tried a lot of treatments. Topical takes you but so far. Your dermatologist will prescribe you stuff you can’t get over the counter, such as minocycline or if serious enough, isotretinoin (Accutane). Isotretinoin is the strongest stuff out right now, and likewise with the most POSSIBLE side effects. In a nutshell, use the your medical insurance and go to a dermatologist. You’re paying for it anyway, you might as well use it.

Okay first make sure you wash your face in the morning when you wake up and before you go to sleep and especially if you wear makeup!!! Try to avoid touching your face because we have bacteria on our hands that will irritate our face and cause us to break out more. Try to avoid using soap with fragrance and that is overly drying. Try using this brand called Cetiphill you can find in in your local drugstores like Longs if you have it or the famous Wal-Mart. Buy the face wash the toner and the lotion. That brand does not contain a whole lot of chemicals which can irritate the skin more. When buying face products try buying things that are non-comenogenic or dermatologist recommended or tested or what ever it says on the bottle =) good luck!

Well since you have tried proactiv and made your skin irritated i would recommend you using this product from the makers of proactive its called “Rodan + Fields Unblemish” im currently using this product for almost the same reasno as you except i have some acne and my skin is oily. now the treatment takes time to kick in at least 4-6 weeks im on the 4th week and i am finally seeing results. they start you off doing it very little the first week then after that you do it more often. now if all else fails then you should see a dementoligist which i would see if my skin doesnt clear. the product is pricey $80 but they guarantee that it will work and if it doesnt work in 60 days you will get a refund without question. hope this works for you brotha ^_^
October 14th, 2009 at 3:58 am
I bet you rest your chin on your hand, while sitting. Or,when you think you put your hand(s) on your chin area. It’s a natural habit. If you catch yourself doing this, you can retrain yourself not to this. I learned this myself. Think about it ,your hands pick up or touch so many things, then you’ll touch your face. No product can stop contamination like just keeping your hands off your face. Hope this helps!
October 15th, 2009 at 4:54 am
don’t worry.here is the solution to your problem. no products in the market are good for health.use natural products.Especially i use to wash my face with extract of lemon and neem paste.you may also this.this is very effective that makes you feel fresh and you will get what you want
October 17th, 2009 at 12:47 am
Proactiv definetly works. Its pretty cheap only $20 for the 3 step process. Its working for me, i just got it a while ago. My face is alot clearer than its ever been. They have a ton of products. If it really didn’t work, try using non-scented Noxema daily at least twice and drinking lots of water. That works, but you have to stay commited to doing it. Clerasil facial pads also work, but once again, you have to stay commited. Asking a doctor is always great!
October 17th, 2009 at 11:33 pm
Wash [your FACE, I mean] every day, once, twice or thrice w/ a cleanser like neutrogena or equate [GET IT AT WALMART!] The neutrogena comes w/ the astringent which also helps to remove acne. Also, b-cuz the astringent dries skin @ the same time as cleaning it, don’t forget to moisturize skin w/ lotion or cream. Speaking of which, there are also creams you can get that are made to cleanse skin as well! Good Luck!

GO TO THE Dermatolgist. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Over the counter stuff can do more harm then help. Never use alchahol on your face. If will weaken your pores’ ablity to close tight.
PIMPLES ON THE CHIN AND JAW ARE DUE TO HORMONES.
Birth control pills will balance this out.
Whenever I have a big breakout, i go to the doc who shots some medicine into each pimple and the pimple usually goes down within 24 hours.
If you do go to the doc, he will probally prescribe antibodics which will clear it up quickly. However this solution is not a premenant one. You might need several rounds of antibodics.
The doc will tell you the best over the counter stuff you can use. A few years ago he told me to use the netrrogena oil free wash. Its faboulous and makes my skill glow and look younger. I woiuld first ask your skin doc whether its good for your skin.
I now have fewer and fewer breakouts. I also have no backheads
the only way to get rid of old scars is by getting professional facial peels from the dermologists.
Never go to anyone besides a dermatogist for the peel. There are serveral types of peels. the doc will tell you which one is good for your skin.
Dont feel bad, Acne (which is also a single pimple on the face) is genetic and sadly chronic if you have it as an adult. GEt the best advise from the doc.
best,
L

October 27th, 2009 at 11:28 am
Use lemons- i used it and i saw results in less than a week- since then i’ve been using them and my skin is only getting better.
I also had oily skin, the lemons helps a lot, but also drink a lot of water and apply only a very small amount of lotion on your face.

November 3rd, 2009 at 6:17 am
You could possibly have the pimples on your chin from talking on the phone. Try to wipe your phones down with alcohol a few times a week to remove the oil and dirt/dust.
Drinking water helped me too.

I used to rest my head in my hands all the time, or touch my face often when I was nervous. Then I would find a bump and it would just get worse from there. Gel and Hair spray made it MUCH worse. I found not touching my face did the trick and if I did, I would wash it. And if I couldn’t control myself and squeezed I put antiseptic cream over the scar that helped it clear very fast. Good luck
November 13th, 2009 at 8:09 am

November 29th, 2009 at 10:39 am
Every Day.
Your skin peels off dead skin during the night, so wash your face with soap and water in the morning. Also wash your face before you go to sleep. Don’t put on any skin medicare before you sleep because of what I explained before about the peeling of dead skin.
Once a Week.
Break the yellow of an egg and mix with the white of the egg. Apply it on your face. Don’t smile, talk, etc… it will form wrinkles. After it dries, take a towel and soak it with water. Next, wring the towel out. (Make sure it’s still a bit wet. Then, put it in a microwave and heat for 30sec or more. Wipe off the egg with the warm towel.
You can Also.
-Wash your face with orange or lemon.
-Get Aloe. (It is a plant. Becare so that you don’t get the wrong plant!) Split the plant and use the gel to wipe on your face. Wait till dry. Then, wash off.
Beware.
You may use toothpaste. It is a good thing for pimples, but it can also damage your skin if you apply it for too long, often, or much.
When you Dry off:
pat the skin with a towel… don’t rub your face.
November 30th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
This is pricey, but I have NOT had a zit since I started using it. It’s the Clarisonic cleaning brush. It’s $200. You can order it from amazon. You know how the sonic toothbrushes vibrate really fast? That’s what this does, but to your face!!! It’s got a brush head for sensitive skin, too. Girl, you will not be disappointed!!
December 2nd, 2009 at 1:56 am
Clean and clear has some great products, and you should use sea breaze before you apply makeup, and moisturizer(this keeps the makeup out of your pores)
December 3rd, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Go to a skin doctor they have pills that help or even eliminate acne there is no reason to have to live with it in this day and age,for scars or pustule’s left from old acne there is micro demiabrasion also done by a doctor or skin technician Good luck and congratulation on your coming vows renewal.
December 5th, 2009 at 7:40 pm
The best thing to do would be to go to the dermatologist and ask what product would be best for you skin type, until then wash your face with an acne wash before you go to bed.
December 6th, 2009 at 4:57 pm
i would say use proactive, thats what i am using and
my skin has cleared in just 3 days. i say it works.
i think that if it is not working or no luck that means
that u did it wrong. if it still dosn’t work then go get other
products in the stores.
December 6th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
my only suggestions would be to
-keep hands off of face!!(they are dirty and infect you pores)
-the obvious watch what you eat
-drink lots of water
-do not to many products on your skin it will only irritate it
-if possible try not to use concelers the fill your pores
and congrats on renewing your vows!!
